COAG waste ban discussion paper

The federal Department of Environment has just released (late Nov) a discussion paper with a short submission time to assist COAG (Commonwealth, state and territory governments) plans to ban exportation of waste plastic, paper, glass and tyres that have not been processed into value-added materials. The discussion paper says: “This is an ambitious goal. All jurisdictions have acknowledged that resourcing from Commonwealth, states and territories, and industry, will be required to effectively implement the ban. Local governments will also have a key role. Feedback is invited by 3 December 2019.”
